Project management

Andrew James has extensive experience of managing large projects with multiple European partners. For example, he is currently the co-ordinator of INNOMIL - INNOMIL (Re-evaluating the Role of Defence R&D in the Innovation System) comprises partners from 7 European countries and the United States who are exploring the role of defence R&D and procurement in the innovation system. MIoIR and the University of Manchester have extensive experience in managing projects for the European Commission.

Scientific contribution on security dynamics

Andrew James is the author of Science and Technology Policies for the Anti Terrorism Era (2006, Amsterdam: IOS Press) and was Scientific Coordinator of a NATO Advanced Research Workshop on the same topic. He is currently the Scientific Coordinator of INNOMIL a project under the PRIME Network of Excellence focused on The Role of Defence in the Innovation System. He is currently editing a book on this topic.

Scientific contribution on science and technology policy and ERA dynamics

 MIoIR (PREST) is one of Europe’s leading academic centres for the study of science and technology policy. Professor Jakob Edler and Dr Kieron Flanagan are actively engaged in the European science and technology policy process and the authors of numerous reports and journal articles in the field.

Design and management of foresight exercise

MIoIR (PREST) is recognised as one of the leading practitioners of foresight in Europe and has extensive experience of foresight exercises and scenario building. Professor Ian Miles, Dr Rafael Popper and Dr Ozcan Saritas have huge experience in designing and facilitating foresight exercises and in particular scenario exercises for a variety of clients across Europe and the rest of the world.
