The Istituto Affari Internazionali is the major Italian think tank in the fields of the foreign policy, security and defence issues and international political economics. A non-profit organization, it strives to promote an understanding of the problems of international politics through studies, research, meetings and publications. To this end the Institute has strengthened its ties with similar institutes abroad through an active participation in a number of international research networks. Its work is traditionally directed at government, business, international organizations and European institutions.
