Expertise & Main Tasks
EGMONT will contribute to SANDERA’s scientific capabilities in the analysis of security dynamics:

The Security & Global Governance Programme contributes to the debate on a new security concept for the multipolar world of the 21st century. In today's world, security is no longer limited to the military sphere alone. A holistic approach is required, integrating physical security, economic prosperity, political freedom and social wellbeing. The objective of the programme is to identify the practical implications of the implementation of a holistic European security strategy, from the development of the European Union's military, civilian and diplomatic capacity, to transatlantic relations, and cooperation between the EU and the United Nations, NATO and the OSCE. In that context, the programme has contributed extensively both to the debate on the drafting of the European Security Strategy in 2003 and to the debate on its implementation and potential review in 2008, being closely involved in seminars and consultations organized by the EU.
